Because the sea can be quite wild at times, there is also a Coast Guard in Katwijk.
In the photo you see ‘de Redder’ (the Rescuer) , the rescue boat of the guard.
The boat is pulled into the sea with a large tractor.
Back in the days, it went a bit different.
