The KW88 (Katwijk 88) fished shrimp and flatfish between 1913 and 1941.

After that she became a ‘show ship’ in various museums, where she even sank completely and was brought back to the surface!

The towns’ fishermen were of course always assisted at sea by the lighthouse: the Vuurbaak (Fire beacon).

It is the second oldest lighthouse in the Netherlands.
