Brittenburg

Although there is evidence on paper that Fort Brittenburg once existed, no archaeological remains have survived.

According to the stories, the fortress was swallowed up in the sea and the remains of it occasionally surfaced, at low tide.

Between the 15th and 17th century, the fortress was exposed several times after a storm, after which various drawings were made.

The searches for the fortress have led to stories of mythical proportions, to which this work of art is a tribute.

The fortress is now surrounded by the shell-men.

How many towers did this fortress have?
